The Series
Fiction Written From the Inside
Most ninja fiction is written by people who have seen the imagery but not lived the practice. The Ninja Saga was written differently. Rob Baard is a 14th-degree black belt in Bujinkan Ninjutsu with over thirty years of practice and instruction — including direct study in Japan. Every element of the tradition in these books comes from inside it.
The series originated as a screenplay in 2007 and evolved across two decades. What emerged is fiction that puts the real ninjutsu tradition at its centre — the techniques, the philosophy, and the world that serious practitioners actually inhabit.

The Books

Book 1
Ninja Prelude
"When the world falls, the Way rises."
Three weeks ago, the city died. A catastrophic electrical surge magnetised the downtown core, knocked out the power grid, and brought the military in. Now the streets belong to armed checkpoints, rival factions, and the desperate.
Reeve hasn't been back in years. He walked away from the training, the mission, and the thing his master called the Way. But the Way doesn't forget. An impossible extraction — a priest who must reach safety to prevent a war — and the co-operators assigned to the mission: Erika and Dan. A pursuit across shattered streets, through an ambush, and into a final confrontation where nothing is what it appeared to be.

Book 2
Ninja Infinite Ways
"One path. Infinite ways."
He tells himself he is done. Erika's betrayal is still raw. The mission is technically complete. The Way has different plans.
An abandoned county jail. Military personnel. A transaction in shadows. A young girl, bound, being moved like cargo. The Hungarian is back. What follows is a deep study in Taijutsu: the formless form, the complete surrender of conscious control to the body's trained intelligence. A photograph that connects back to the priest — and opens a thread that the entire series will follow.

Questions

No. The books work as action fiction first. The ninjutsu tradition is woven through the narrative — it enriches the story for those who know it, and deepens it for those who don't.
Are these martial arts instruction books?
No. These are fiction novels — action-thriller with ninjutsu at the centre. If you want the instruction, see the Like An Action Star courses. If you want the story, this is where it lives.

Are more books in the series planned?
