KIDS LIFE SKILLS

Kids Martial Arts Training                  Ph: 041 041 44 88

Life Skills
At our school martial arts is just the beginning of a primary school students experiences, we have high expectations for their growth on all levels, not just physically but mentally as well.  We have specific programs in place to develop their social skills and build strong character using a system of projects that we have developed right here at our school with the help of school teachers and psychologists to use exclusively in our program for our students.

We also offer cross training in a wide range of related skills and activities, such as basic acrobatics,  all centered around developing the students full potential across many disciplines both in and outside of martial arts training. These disciplines are all connected by one thing ….. Confidence!

Children in Tournaments   Good or Bad – Yes or No

This may surprise you but I don’t like tournaments and here’s why. When we stand up in front of your child and say ” its wrong to hit another person unless they are trying to hurt you “ we actually mean it……

We can’t then say …. “Next Saturday there’s a tournament on etc etc …” And at the tournament guess what happens? The kid who hits the most kids gets the biggest trophy, patted on the back and told well done……….What’s that all about?

At the end of the day, no matter what you are told or how it’s sold to you one child is being rewarded for hitting another child, and that’s just not what we’re about.

My other major problem with tournaments is often when you join a martial arts school that has a tournament focus you’re told “It’s ok tournaments aren’t compulsory”……… but guess who gets all the attention, your child or the ones on the tournament fighting team?   Instead of chasing trophies by trudging around to tournament after tournament at a huge financial cost to you, long drives or flights, hotels, restaurants, equipment, start winning and it can be thousands of dollars and international flights !!

Instead of all that our full focus, 100% of the time, is on age appropriate self defence based martial arts and helping families be happy and healthy. If that makes sense to you then please fill in the form below and we will contact you to arrange a time for your child’s first of three free lessons.
