Building Confidence That Lasts a Lifetime

Confidence built at Bujinkan Martial Arts Ninjutsu Academy doesn't stay in the dojo. It goes home with your child and gets used every single day. When a child has the courage to overcome obstacles, success naturally follows — in school, at home, and in life.

Our classes teach children how to gain control of their minds, bodies, and emotions. Not just how to throw a kick — but how to think, how to carry themselves, and how to show up in the world with genuine self-assurance.

Self Discipline & Thinking First We teach kids to think before they act. Real discipline — not just following rules, but developing the internal habit of pause and consideration.
Respect — At Every Level Respect for themselves, their parents, their siblings, and their teachers. Practised in the dojo, carried everywhere else.
Concentration & Listening Improved focus and listening skills translate directly to the classroom. Many of our students show measurable improvements in their school grades.
Body, Mind & Spirit Our program challenges the whole child — developing better hand-eye coordination, balance, agility, and mental resilience together.

Our Philosophy

Why We Don't Do Tournaments

When we stand in front of your child and say "it's wrong to hit another person unless they are trying to hurt you" — we mean it. It would be wrong of us to then say "next Saturday there's a tournament on, let's fight hard and win." You either reward a child for hitting, or you tell them it's wrong. It can't be both — at least not to an eight-year-old.

And at the tournament? The kid who hits the most kids gets the biggest trophy. No matter how it's sold to you, one child is being rewarded for hitting another child.

Our other concern: when you join a tournament school you're told "tournaments aren't compulsory" — but watch who gets the attention in class. Is it your child, or is it the kids on the fighting team?

"Instead of chasing trophies at a huge financial cost — long drives, hotels, protective equipment, potentially thousands of dollars for international competitions — our full focus, 100% of the time, is on age-appropriate self-defence and helping families be happy and healthy."

We do teach very effective martial arts. Your child will know how to protect themselves, how to avoid danger, and how to resolve conflict — with and without throwing a kick, block, or punch.

Parent Testimonials

What Parents Are Saying

A small selection of unsolicited feedback from parents. All original testimonials are available to view at our reception in the parent's own handwriting — nothing has been changed.

Lochie has shown a very mature attitude towards the discipline required. His exercises have been completed without any parent prompts. His willingness to help his younger sister has shown a maturity that has pleased and impressed us immensely. But above all else — he is loving every minute. Parent of Lochie, age 7
Wonderful effort this month. Jayden has been very helpful and a big improvement can be seen at home. Parent of Jayden
He has been helping around the house so much more now, but he is enjoying it at the same time. Teaching his sister good lessons. His reading has been outstanding. Parent of student
Madison's manners and reading are going great. She is working hard, cleaning up her room, spelling words. She has improved 100%. Parents of Madison
Ahmed has been wonderful this month — he has applied himself and spent 30 minutes twice a week training at home. Well done. Parent of Ahmed
What a little helper! Cleaning the house and playroom without being told. Riley even came home with stickers from school for being good, listening to his teacher, and being a helper. What more can a parent ask for! Parent of Riley
