The Training

Practical Self-Defence
for Women

Women's Self-Defence classes at Bujinkan Martial Arts Ninjutsu Academy in Geelong are built around practical, street-effective techniques. We cover the skills that matter most — not theory, not sport, not techniques designed for controlled conditions.

Our adult and high school students train in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu — Ninjutsu and Japanese Jujutsu — developing skills that work standing, on the ground, and against weapons or multiple attackers.

Situational Awareness Recognising and reading threats before they escalate. The most important skill — and the one most schools overlook entirely.
Striking & Kicking Effective striking using the full body. Techniques that generate real force regardless of size or strength difference.
Escaping & Breaking Free Wrist grabs, bear hugs, chokes — the most common attack scenarios trained until the responses are automatic.
Pressure Points & Locks Anatomical targets and joint controls that work against a larger, stronger attacker without relying on brute force.
Knife Defence Integrated throughout training — not an afterthought. Creating distance, protecting vital areas, and managing real threat patterns.
Multiple Attackers Positioning, movement, and decision-making when facing more than one threat — a critical and rarely taught skill.
"The techniques are adjusted to suit each student — but they are never watered down. Real situations require real preparation." — Shihan Rob Baard, 14th Degree Bujinkan Ninjutsu
