Weapons Training

Part of a complete martial arts system — built in from the start.

Weapons training is built into every class — usually in the final 30 minutes — and rotates monthly so students are exposed to a wide range of traditional weapons throughout the year.

By the time you reach Black Belt, you'll not only be confident with weapons, but also skilled in striking, grappling, locks, throws, chokes, and breakfalls.

The System

Sogo Bujutsu — A Complete Martial Art

We teach what's known in Japan as Sogo Bujutsu — a complete martial arts system. Most martial arts styles only cover one or two areas. Ours is naturally complete. We don't need to bolt on outside systems — it's all built in from the start.

Why Train With Weapons?

"You're not going to have one in a street fight…"

That's true — but they might. And knowing how weapons move and behave gives you a better chance of defending yourself. It's also genuinely fun to train.

More importantly, training with weapons improves your empty-hand fighting. It teaches you how to move, coordinate, and control the space around you.

Training with weapons teaches you how to fight without them — and vice versa.
