Rob Baard has read faces for real his whole life. He had to. Growing up in a rough neighbourhood, he learned to see a person’s intent from across the road before a word was said. When he went deaf in one ear, his eyes took over what his ears no longer could — reading a cinema crowd of a thousand, watching a subject on surveillance as a licensed private investigator, sitting across from people whose faces told him more than their words. He trained in Japan, directed actors on film sets, and studied the mind sciences to put a name to what he had done for decades. This book is that experience, made teachable.
